Pam Dewell
Program Director, Wind River Program
pam.dewell@jhlandtrust.org

Prior to moving to Dubois, Pam was the Director of External Affairs for The Nature Conservancy in Wyoming. Pam has lived on working ranches in Fremont County since coming to Wyoming in 2002 from Newport, Rhode Island, where she organized tall ships races -- the highlight of a twenty-year career in the maritime industry. In response to the obvious question, Pam says, "Working ranches and traditional sailing vessels are actually not so different. Both require round-the-clock attention, an ability to work with and not against natural elements, and, both are important components of America's history and culture. They persist, and are beloved, in spite of a faster-paced world." Pam is dedicated to the conservation of the Cowboy State's wide open spaces, and the wildlife and ranching heritage that depend on them. Pam has one daughter, Oriana Wuerth, a graduate of Georgetown University now at work on development projects in the mid-East and she is engaged to Stan Schaper, her favorite cowboy.
